Celebrating National Spaghetti day on January 4th, this dish has been a worldwide favorite reaching as far back as the 1st century B.C. when pasta meals began to appear in Ancient Rome. The dough, thick-like consistency of pasta originated from Greece and several areas of the Middle East and Arabian Peninsula. The first time Italy was introduced to “dry pasta” was during the 7th century A.D. when Arabs occupied Sicily. As the years went by many variations and toppings were introduced in spaghetti, but tomato sauce wasn’t added until the 18th century in Italy.
