As summer comes to a close, the Rick Cox Realty team reflects on their summer and their favorite Richmond experiences.
Q: The end of August is coming up, what are your favorite things to do with your family to wrap up the summer?
Rick: As a family, we enjoy going on walks in the evening to enjoy the nice warm weather.
Eleni: Every year the day before school begins, we take the kids to get ice cream. Marks the end of summer and beginning of the new school year.
Q: Did you go to a festival this summer?
Eleni: Yes – We go to the Greek Festival every year at St. Helen and Constantine. They have the Best Greek dessert, Lukumades, Greek Donuts soaked in Honey
Q: Summer Dining in Richmond – Where is your favorite place in Richmond to dine with the family/friends?
Rick: I enjoy going out to the Four Seasons restaurant in Powhatan with friends and family, with plenty of amazing and delicious dishes. El Cerro Azul is another family favorite where we enjoy dollar taco night on Wednesdays. My favorite is the carnitas!
Eleni: We love the Boathouse at Sunday Park. Great food and gorgeous views on the deck. We love the fish tacos!
Brett: The Boathouse, as well! For the atmosphere more than the menu, but I love their oysters on the half shell.
Cristina: Can Can, French Restaurant in Carytown. They serve delicious dishes for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the service is excellent.
Q: Summer Dining in Richmond – Where is your favorite place in Richmond for date night with your significant other?
Rick: Sedona Taphouse in Westchester Commons is our go to. We enjoy their selections of wines and flatbreads.
Brett: Piscado’s is a great date night destination! The chef always has a handful of specials that sound amazing and you will never go wrong with the Snapper Cancun.
Cristina: Can Can, French food is our favorite! All dishes are excellent, they also serve delicious bread with the meal, the coffee is the best, desert is top, plus the French wine is a must! The raspberry cheesecake and cup of Café Latte are, “MAMA MIA”, delicious!
Q: Best Dessert in Richmond – where is your favorite place to take the family out to in the area for a sweet treat?
Rick: Four Seasons in Powhatan has the best cheesecake and dessert selection. We always have to get a slice when we go there!
Brett: Favorite summer dessert spot is Jimer’s Frozen Custards out at the Skinquarter Farmer’s Market. Just have to remember that it’s cash only.
