February Festival Guide 2020

Richmond is rich with culture and festivals celebrating the diversity of the area. Many types of festivals are celebrated each month with activities for all ages. As we move into February, Richmond continues to host a variety of events.

  • Freedom Fridays - Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia - 2/7

Freedom Friday is back @ the BHMVA! Come by on the first Friday of the month and enjoy live Jazz and free admission to Virginia's Black History Museum's exhibitions.


  • ChinaFest: Year of the Metal Rat - Virginia Museum of Fine Arts - 2/8

Enjoy performances, activities and demonstrations of Chinese art & culture.


  • Cats Live - Altria Theater - 2/6,8

Get friends and family together to enjoy the theatrical performance of Cats. Tickets are being sold at the link below.


  • 2nd Annual River City Spirits Festival - Stony Point Fashion Park - 2/15

Gates open at 11 am to try 60+ local cideries, wineries, craft spirits and more. 


  • Rockin' to Lockin' - The Broadberry - 2/15

Buy your tickets at the link below to vote for your favorite local bands with 5 bands playing the 15th, 21st and 28th.


  • Swan Lake - Dominion Energy Center - 2/14 -16

Regarded by many as the pinnacle of classical ballet, Swan Lake opens on Valentine’s Day for four performances only. Come check out this iconic performance for a limited time!


  • Cinderella - Dominion Energy Center - 2/23

The Virginia Opera presents their performance of Cinderella with an exclusive tea time with the cast after the show.


  • RVA Festival of the Laugh - Capital Ale House Music Hall - 2/26-28

Get ready to laugh as 12 comedians are featured in this 3 comedy day event. 


  • Shiver in the River - 480 Tredegar St. - 2/29

Join in on the clean-up along the James River, a 5k walk/run with a jump into the James River. 


  • GalaxyCon - Greater Richmond Convention Center - 2/28-3/1

Come out in your best costume and enjoy Q&As, gaming tournaments, cosplay and more.
