Home Essentials to Dive into Fall

As we move from the bright colors of summer into the autumn maroons of fall, it is time to start to get into the fall spirit and cozy up your home. See our favorite Fall decor essentials below!

Add a little color and a little warmth to your rooms with a blanket you can throw on your bed or family/living room. Add a blanket that will complement the main colors represented in the room. You want that blanket to pop! On a solid colored couch never be afraid to be bold and add a patterned blanket. There are also so many types of materials from Wool, Fleece, Cotton, Cashmere, Faux Fur and you can even try a heated blanket. Another plus to throw blankets is that it can cover worn furniture to bring life and make the room look bigger when you add color to bigger furniture. Before the temperature drops take advantage of the cool nights by the fire pit and add some throw blankets to cozy it up.

There are three ways to fold your blankets:

  • Drape it - This method is the most popular and easiest.
  • Fold it - A neat fold, shown below, to display it.
  • Cascade it - Spread out the blanket to highlight the design.

If you cannot decide which throw to use, pick out a decorative basket to store all your blankets. Blanket Ladders are also a popular alternative for storage that can decoratively display your collection of blankets!

A creative way to add some motivational calligraphy or hand drawn art to your room. Buy a decorative chalkboard with an inspirational quote already inscribed or make it a DIY project. Google and look to find what inspirational quote you want to add to your home. Sketch the design on a piece of paper and plan out what you would like to write. Grab a level and make sure your design will be centered. Buy some chalk markers or regular chalk to paint up your design onto your board. To add some cartoons, look up some clip art to help you with your design. If you mess up, use water and q-tips for easy and precise clean-up. Place your masterpiece in your kitchen, living room or on your way out the door.
