Summer Festival Guide 2019

Richmond is rich with culture and festivals celebrating the diversity of the area. Many different types of festivals are celebrated each month with activities for all ages. As we move into the summer months, Richmond continues to host a variety of events.

  • Flowers After 5 - Lewis Botanical Gardens - Thursdays June  through September

Thursday evenings enjoy the blossoming gardens with live music, beer/wine, dining and shopping. On every 2nd and 4th Thursday, the Lewis Botanical Garden partners with the Richmond SPCA to allow leashed furry friends into the gardens.

  • Richmond Greek Festival - Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral - 5/30 through 6/2

44th Annual Richmond Greek Festival with food, music, dancing and culture!

  • Broad Appetit - Various Richmond Restaurant Locations - 6/2

Seventy Restaurant locations participating in a $3 dollar dish event for all to enjoy!

  • Richmond Shakespeare Festival - Agecroft Hall & Gardens - 6/6 through 8/4

Come explore this 16th century Tudor home, featuring a series of performances that start at 7:30pm.

  • Beer, Bourbon, & BBQ - Richmond Raceway Complex - 6/8

  • RVA East End Festival - Chimborazo Park - 6/8-9

  • Innsbrook Taste of Virginia Festival - Innsbrook Pavilion - 7/6

A variety of food, wine and craft beer with live music, a kids zone and fireworks to top it all off.

  • Science on Tap: Togas & Tectonics - Science of Museum - 7/11

An adult only night with Food trucks/drinks/samplings and conversations on volcanoes in space.

  • Hanover Tomato Festival - Pole Green Park - 7/12-13

Lots of tomatoes and over 200 vendors with unique tomato dishes to sample.

Come out and enjoy music and southern cusinine while also raising awareness about the HIghland Support Project focusing on the restoration, preservation and protection of the mountain regions across the United States.

  • Dragon Boat Festival -Rocketts Landing - 8/3

Find, rowing down the James, colorful Dragon Boats racing or performing.

  • Richmond Jazz and Music Festival -Maymont Park - 8/8-11

Enjoy one the biggest festivals on the east coast in one weekend filled with jazz and entertainment.

  • Filipino Festival - 8200 Woodman Dr Henrico -8/9-10

Surround yourself in Filipino culture while watching tradition Filipino folk dance and enjoy a variaity of delicious foods such as Chiken Adobom, Turon, Empanadas, etc..

  • Carytown Watermelon Festival - Cary Stadium -8/11

Over 3000 watermelons, 80 musicians, food/drinks and watermelon merchandise.
