Thanksgiving is a time for bringing families together and creating memories. We are thankful and grateful for being able to spend time with family, good health, and so much more. Throughout the holiday season the Rick Cox Realty Team members like to share their traditions and favorite dishes. Here are some of our traditions during this holiday in this Q&A featuring Melanie Sutherland, Eleni Filippone, Rick Cox, & Kathy Hole:
Q: What are your plans for Thanksgiving this year?
Melanie – “Our family tradition is to go to our friends' river house and cook the delicious meal together there.”
Eleni – “Getting the entire family together to enjoy our special turkey and stuffing with a special European recipe for stuffing with meat.”
Rick – “I am excited to have the family together to spend time catching up and playing our favorite card/board games.”
Kathy – “Getting together with family.”
Q: What are your favorite Thanksgiving desserts?
Melanie – “Favorite dessert is Pecan Pie, but my family likes Cherry and Apple, so we make all of them. Can't forget the Pumpkin Chiffon either!”
Eleni – “Apple Pie is always a favorite for my family, but Pecan is also very well liked.”
Rick – “I can eat all of them, but my top favorite is a good Pecan Pie.”
Kathy – “Ukrops Chocolate Pie and Pecan Pie are always a must have.”
Q: Black Friday – What is your plan of Attack?
Melanie – “We go shopping late Thursday night to the Williamsburg outlets and Yankee Candle, which always puts you in the Christmas spirit!”
Eleni – “Online shopping on Black Friday is usually our best strategy for holiday deals. We try to avoid the stores at all costs.”
Rick – “I always enjoy skipping the shopping, eating the leftovers and taking the family to see a movie.”
Kathy – “We don’t go too early usually, but we’ll be Black Friday shopping around 8:00 am and then we’ll do breakfast out. Then we hit Best Buy, Kohl’s, then we break for the VA Tech game! Go Hokies!”
