The color of the year, announced by PANTONE, is ‘Very Peri’ described as having red undertones with a primarily periwinkle blue color. It is a color that promotes new visions and perspectives according to the press release on the color from PANTONE. Although how much influence this color will have on home design is yet to be determined. The 2021 PANTONE color of year was ‘Ultimate Gray’ and it had a definitive influence in homes where you can find gray colors on the exteriors of homes and within homes, as well. Now that 2022 is here a lot of home design experts are coming to an agreement that gray is no longer a pop color and periwinkle blue is on the rise. Where Real Estate Agents would treasure the "Ultimate Gray" look for advantages in Resales, they are now saying that they are seeing more and more homes with navy blue accents popping up in the current market. Homeowners are choosing to paint their kitchens or bathrooms periwinkle, but also accenting it within decor like artwork or furniture pieces.
So, what we can expect in home design for 2022? Colors such as navy blue and pale pink are being seen more & more often in both interior and exterior spaces. That being said, ‘Very Peri’ will definitely have a place in a lot of homes come 2022 as people are opting to implement more positive colors after after a pandemic that saw a lot of homeowners utilizing their home as an office space.
